Andrik Puentes was born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in Mexico. He graduated summa cum laude in 2024 from the University of Rhode Island (URI) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, minoring in Mathematics and Robotics. Currently, Andrik is a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania, pursuing a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Mechatronics and Robotics.
Guided by a deep curiosity and passion for innovation, Andrik has always been motivated by his friends, family, and the desire to solve complex problems. His interests span across mechatronics, aerospace, and cutting-edge technological challenges.
Andrik's interest lays in mechatronics, aerospace, and anywhere where a complex problem exists. He has involved himself in various interdisciplinary activities such as, Robotics research as an undergraduate researcher at the Intelligent Robotics and Controls Laboratory (ICR Lab) at the University of Rhode Island, Mech.E. Senior Design Capstone project as Team lead and Modeling & Analysis Engineer, and President and Chief Engineer at Formula & Baja Society of Automotive Engineers at URI (Rhody Racing).
His ultimate aspirations are to be a devoted learner and to make a meaningful impact on this world, his university, and future generations. By blazing a trail for like-minded individuals to embrace the exhilaration of curiosity, I aim to create a lasting legacy.
